The Chapter Technology Transfer Committee (CTTC) has assumed the responsibilities and activities of three ASHRAE Standing Committees – Chapter Programs, TEGA, and Refrigeration. The CTT Committee serves to provide efficient and effective transfer of current and relevant information throughout the HVACR industry to and from the chapters. The CTT Committee reports to Members Council.
The CTT Committee will be sponsoring the 2008 CTTC Satellite Broadcast/Webcast titled “Integrated Building Design – Putting the Pieces Together to Unleash the Power of Teamwork”. The Broadcast/Webcast will be held on April 16, 2008. The speakers list for the broadcast should be finalized by the time you read this article. The list of speakers and their topics will be made available on the CTTC website. www.ashrae.org/cttc
Chapter members don’t forget to take advantage of the free offer from ASHRAE to promote building energy efficiency. ASHRAE and its partners are making the Advanced Energy Design Guides—including the newest for K-12 School Buildings—available for free download (PDF). The guides offer designers and contractors the tools needed for achieving a 30% energy savings compared to buildings that meet the minimum requirements of Standard 90.1-1999.
Congratulations to Mr. Steven Jones from the San Joaquin Chapter for receiving a 2008 ASHRAE Technology Award – Honorable Mention. Steven received his award in the Commercial Buildings – New Category for the Kern Schools Federal Credit Union Administration project in Bakersfield, California.
Since we are on the subject, it’s already that time of year to start thinking about getting your Technology Awards application prepared. Information on the ASHRAE Technology Awards and all other ASHRAE awards is available on the CTTC website. www.ashrae.org/cttc
